WHY JOIN US
The Yannabil First Peoples Tourism Council is committed to growing a strong network of Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander tourism businesses and organisations. By becoming a member, you play
an active role in shaping, promoting, and sustaining cultural tourism on Bunurong Country.
Who Can Join?
Membership is open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander organisations or businesses that meet the following requirements:
- Aboriginal Ownership: At least 51% Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander ownership, with evidence provided.
- Local Operation: Must have operated in the Bunurong Country community for a minimum of six months.
- Tourism Focus: Offers tourism experiences through products or services for visitors.
- Representation: Membership must be represented by a person aged 18 years or older.

- Networking opportunities with Indigenous tourism leaders and peers.
- Access to workshops, training, and industry resources.
- Promotion and visibility through Council events and communications.
- A voice in Council initiatives, advocacy, and decision-making.
Member Responsibilities
Members are expected to:
- Uphold Indigenous cultural values and best practices in tourism activities.
- Engage respectfully and constructively with fellow members.
- Contribute to the growth and sustainability of First Peoples tourism in the region.
- Pay an annual membership fee of $100 (or pro-rata fee if joining mid-year).
